What to include

What the door is doing: not opening, reversing, off its track, loud, shaking or hanging crooked
When it started and whether anything happened just before, such as a power cut or an impact
Whether the door is stuck open, stuck closed or can be moved by hand
The age of the door and opener if you know it, and any model numbers on the motor unit
Whether there are broken parts you can see, such as a gap in a spring or a frayed cable
Whether the door is the only way into the home and who can be there during a visit

If the door is stuck open or stuck closed, say so at the start.
